the AALBG has created an “Arid Explorers Children's Garden”, a free nature play garden which provides a fun and educational play space for children to spend time outdoors learning about the flora, fauna and environments found in Australia's arid lands regions. This is an enclosed garden with lots of fun opportunities for climbing, building, balancing, playing in the “big red” sand pit, exploring & being creative. The shelter shed in this area can be booked for groups/activities/kids parties. If you would like to bring a group to use this space, please call (08) 8641 9116 to ensure it is available.
Explore the eremophila garden and discover the hidden rusty animals hiding among the bushes. Start at the Visitor
Centre and collect an animal discovery brochure from the gift shop so children can mark off the animals as they find them. Ideal for children aged 2-12 and is a wonderful way for families to explore the garden. If you would prefer to print off a checklist before you arrive, you can download one here.
Every school holidays, including interstate holidays, a free activity table is set up at the Visitor Centre to keep children entertained while parents spend time browsing the gift and plant shop, or enjoying a relaxing coffee in the picturesque cafe. Children can enjoy sand play and create their own landscapes using natural materials gathered from the garden.
For any event enquiries please call (08) 8641 9116.
